Good afternoon,
It was a great day for a pizza party!! The children were very excited to wear their pjs today (I think staff liked it tooJ) and to not have to pack a lunch. In addition to the cheese pizza from Little Caesars the children enjoyed bananas and Oreos for dessert. A great change from our normal daily routine! So fun!
It’s crazy that we are already into the last week of February next week. Here are just a couple reminders:
- Family chapel is next week
- Special guest speaker on Tuesday & Wednesday next week – Someone from Dr Gough’s office will be here to talk to the children about proper care of our teeth for Dental Health Week.
- Fire Drill next Thursday at 10:15am
I wanted to make sure you have a couple other things on your calendar that will be coming up in March. March 2nd is Dr Seuss’s birthday and in honor of that we celebrate literacy the entire month of March. We will be holding our annual book drive all month and encourage the children to participate in the Read Everyday Program. More information will be going home in your child’s folder next week so please keep an eye out for that. Also, on March 4th & 5th we will be having spring individual and class pictures with Diana Busch. More information about those dates will be coming home next week to you by email and in your child’s daily folder. As always no order forms go home before picture day.
**Spring Break is March 9th-March 13th Suncreek Kids will be closed the entire week**
Lastly, I want to share a special event with you! Members of the Cantate (high school choir) group here at Suncreek UMC will be putting on a production of Into the Woods. They will be doing a shortened (1 hour) version that is completely family friendly. Everyone (except the wolf!) lives happily ever after! The cast is made up of members of Cantate and we’ll be performing this show on Friday, March 20 at 7:30 pm and on Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm in Palmer Hall. I will be sending home more information on this fun event and plan to have members of the cast here at Suncreek Kids dressed in costume a couple days the week of Sept. 16th so our children and families can see them and buy tickets. Ticket prices: Evening shows are $7 for students, $10 for adults and $5 for ages 5 and under. Should be a wonderful family event!
Enjoy the warmer weather we are forecasted to have this weekend!
