I hope you have been enjoying this beautiful spring weather this week! It is so hard to believe we are starting March…….time flies when you are having fun!! We have been very busy here at the preschool this week with school pictures yesterday and today.
Just to remind you that next week TSS Photography will be her on Wednesday (7th) and Thursday (8th) with the proofs for parents to view and order pictures from. I think parents are going to be very pleased with they see!
Yesterday I sent an email about the spring service project (you can download a copy of the flyer here). The preschool is so blessed to have such a great group of ladies on the preschool board that have worked on the service committee and came up with this wonderful program to help Boyd Elementary in Allen, encourage reading with our students and families and to celebrate Dr. Seuss as his birthday is this month. A special thank you to Kimmi Cramer, Kristin Kaufman, Sarah Quinlan, and Erin Johnston for helping with the cute bulletin board in the hall and helping with the materials that went home today. I would also like to thank our parents for supporting all of the wonderful projects we are blessed to be a part of in helping in the community. (Below is a couple pictures of the adorable bulletin board and a picture of our Red Room students kicking off day 1 of the Reading Every Day program!!)
This month the children will be celebrating God’s gifts of plants, sunshine, rainbows and insects – things that deal with spring. We will be preparing the children for the upcoming holiday in April of Easter so the entire month of March we will be studying the resurrection and studying the bible verse “Jesus is not here. He is Risen!” Luke 24:6
The color for the month is purple and the shape is oval. Letters of the week will be K, A, and V and then the letters reviewed the students have learned so far this school year. Busy bust such a fun time of the year!!
Reminders for next week:
· Scholastic book orders are due on Wednesday, March 7th
· School picture proofs will be ready for the parents on Wed. March 7th and Thurs. March 8th. No envelopes were sent home prior to the pictures being taken. All parents will get a proof sheet with three poses of your child on the two separate backgrounds – six photos to choose from total. The proof sheet is for the parents to keep and will be sent home if parents do not stop by the table on Wed. or Thurs. to pick it up. The great thing is you can order from TSS Photography online or fill out the form attached to the proof sheet. It will be very easy!
· Vendor Booth – Wed. (7th) and Thurs. (8th) Kelley Dixon (mom of Dylan & Hannah in the Sky Blue Room) will be her sharing her beautiful handmade jewelry (Rock –N- Mom Custom Jewelry). 10% of her total sales will come directly back to the preschool. Speaking of fundraising I wanted to update you on the total our families have raised for the preschool so far this year and what that money has helped purchase.
***Fundraising by our Suncreek Kids families: $8,600*** THIS IS FABULOUS!!!!!!
These are just a few of the items that have been purchased for the preschool with fundraising money. More items will continue to be purchased as our needs arise throughout the school year. Thank you for your continued support!!
