Good afternoon,
It has been a fun and busy week at Suncreek Kids! Our week kicked off on Monday with the lemonade stand that celebrated the end of our Read Everyday program. It was a fun event and many of our families came and enjoyed the fellowship with each other. Donations from the lemonade stand benefits the non-profit My Very Own Book and I am happy to say that our Suncreek Kids families donated $229 to this very special organization. Thank you for your generosity! Tomorrow is the last day to donate books for the book drive. Our Suncreek Kids families are the best!!
All school picture orders are due by next Tuesday, April 2nd. Diana Busch will be here on Monday & Tuesday to answer any questions you may have and will be displaying classroom picture proofs. You may also hand your orders into her that day. Picture make up day will be on Thurs. April 25th if your child was absent on the original day the pictures were taken.
Easter parties took place today in Rainbow, Orange and Green Rooms and will take place for all other classes tomorrow (Thursday). I invite all parents to come to the parties and please make sure to send an Easter basket with your child to collect eggs at the egg hunt.
Next week is the first week of April and with that brings a new month of activities. We will be celebrating God’s creation of animals. This is perfect as we will be learning the story of Noah and learning the bible verse “Noah listened and obeyed God.” Genesis 6:22
*Take a look into what is happening in our specials classes:
Centers: We are fully in the science swing as we explore the Suncreek Kids Science Lab. We have plenty of messy science to see……mud, dirt, worms, snow, making colors and seeing bugs are just a few of the things we are exploring. We will be enjoying edible rainbows soon to complete our experiments.
Spanish: The kids and Pablo are enjoying getting to know Ms Blanca (you can find her on ITunes). She and Pablo have worked on colors and directions. This month we also started on animals!
Computers: We are slowly continuing to work on home row with the kids. They are also enjoying the new program that helps them create a movie and play it back. We all understand clicking and dragging as well as main menu and the new term “double clicking”.
Music: Music has been fun and active this month! Each class is growing in their ability to listen and follow instructions in class. The Rainbow/Orange classes are learning a lot of new songs like “Five Little Frogs, Six Little Ducks Head and Shoulders and Ring around the Rosie where we all fall down at the end. They also love Old McDonald and using a lot of puppets.
The Three and Four Year Old classes are learning Bluebird, Bluebird, a folk song that they will sing in elementary school. The children are in two groups and one group is the windows while the other group is the bluebirds. They really love this song and movement. They also like any kind of instruments and this month we are using rhythm sticks. It teaches them a steady beat and how to echo a rhythm pattern. The song we are tapping to is The Wizard of Oz. Since its Easter time, they all love One Green Jelly Bean and Easter Bunny Boogie.
Happy Easter! Ms Cammie and I love singing, dancing and just being silly with your amazing kiddos! J
~Thanks again for sharing your kids with us! Ms Natalie, Ms MaryLee & Ms Cammie
- The last Scholastic Book order form for the year is coming home today and tomorrow in your child’s folder. This will be the last book order of the year. All orders will be due in by Thursday, April 25th.
- Earring found: If anyone is missing a very nice earring please stop by the office and identify.
- We did have a surprise fire drill today J the remainder of our drills this year will be unannounced as ideally staff and students always need to be prepared. They did very well with the “surprise”!
