Good afternoon!
What a beautiful day it was for the Bike-a-Thon……we couldn’t have asked for better weather!! It was also a HUGE success due to our wonderful families!!!! Thank you to the committee of volunteers that helped make this such a special day for the children and staff of Suncreek Kids. We couldn’t have done it with out you!! A special thank you to the board members that have helped with the preparations and organizing the parent volunteers. You are a wonderful group of ladies!! I want to thank our wonderful board President Jessica Blackmon for all your hard work and the group of ladies that served with you: Cathy Tenner, Heather Wakefield, Michelle Cole, Kelli Maurer, Megan Jackson and Elizabeth Wolf. There were many parents that came and helped us out during the event in many areas and we so appreciate you too!! I want to say a special thank you to Natalie & Michael Hartman for staying for the entire event and helping move all the bikes back and forth for each class. Thank you thank you!! Also, a huge thank you to Sandra Kim for being our lap counter for each class. Your time was so appreciated!!! In honor of this special event your child is coming home with this t-shirt (pictured below) to remember this fun day. Also, the lap sheet reporting how many laps your child made around the track will be in your child’s folder and bag. Please have your child wear their bike–a-thon t-shirt the next time they attend school next week (Monday or Tuesday). All donations from the bike-a-thon may be turned into the office between today and Thursday, Oct. 31st. We are SO blessed by the generous giving of our preschool community!! Thanks again for your continued support! Speaking of support I want to also thank our generous corporate sponsors that you will find on the back of the tshirt: Diana Busch Photography, MyHomedia Home Theater, La Madeleine, Rhiannon Evans Photography, and Lifeblue Creative Technology (for donating the snacks) and Kroger for the water donation. A big thank you to photographer, Whitney Pacheco, as she donated her time today to take pictures of the event. I will share them with you all soon!!
Lastly, the spirit contest was a fierce one and it was SO much fun to see the children and families get into the spirit and decorate for today. You all looked great!! Our panel of judges had their work cut out for them so thank you parents for helping your child show their classroom spirit! I am happy to announce Blue Room as the winner of the spirit contest and they will have a pizza party next week!! Great job Blue Room and to all our students for showing your classroom spirit!! So proud of all of you and I hope you had fun today.
We have proof that our children at Suncreek Kids understand the bible story of David & Goliath which we have been studying this month in our classrooms and in chapel. ” Big Tex may be big but not as big as Goliath” quotes our own Ava Arnold in the Sky Blue Room. I love it!! We did a little experiment this week in chapel and checked to see how many of our friends it took to fill up an outline of Goliath. Below are seven of our friends in the Red & Sky Blue Rooms. Also, see the picture with Ms Mariana and the Goliath she made to share the story with her students in Rainbow. Some of our students also had a special visit in chapel today with Pastor Keith. He came and shared a little about his job (for community helpers) and shared the story of David & Goliath. The rest of the students will have their special visit with Pastor Keith on Nov. 5th.
