Happy Thursday!
It has been a week full of fun and learning at Suncreek Kids! I hope your child shares daily with you the fun things they are doing in their class. You may hear your child singing Christmas songs and yes, that’s because we are already starting to learn the music for the program that will be taking place on Dec. 8th. It will be here before we know it!
I have just a few reminders for you:
- Suncreek UMC Fall Festival and Chili Cook – is this Saturday, October 25th 5:00 – 7:00pm
Bring the entire family to Suncreek’s Fall Festival and Chili Cook-Off. We’ll have free games, bounce houses, hay rides and lots of goodies to eat. Children are encouraged to dress in “non-scary” costumes and enjoy “Trunk or Treat”. Chili will be judged by an “expert” panel but everyone gets to taste! Our Missions Committee will be offering hot dogs and chips for donations. Contact: Christy Parker to enter your chili at [email protected] & Meredith Knickerbocker to register your car for Trunk or Treat at [email protected]
- Next week is Family Chapel – Pastor Keith will be in chapel with us and will share with the children how in his job he is a community helper.
- Bad Weather Drill – Wednesday, Oct. 29th 9:30am
- Halloween Parties – Wednesday, Oct. 29th & Thursday, Oct. 30th (no scary costumes please) – Check with your child’s teacher for the times as they may vary.
A special thank you to Susan Raff for being here today and yesterday and sharing with all the children her role as a community helper. Susan is a pediatrician and she brought many things for the children to see and touch that she uses in her job. Thanks again Susan for sharing with us!
School picture proofs did go home yesterday and will go home today with the rest of the students. You may hand in your orders to the office or hand them into Diana next Wednesday and Thursday (they are all due in by Oct. 30th) at pickup and at drop off. She can answer any of your questions, just contact her directly. Thanks!
Family directories will be going home in your child’s folder by next Wednesday. Please look for that!
A heads up! Please support Suncreek Kids’ Fall Service Project “Thankful Hearts Fill the Carts” It supports neighbors in our community by bringing items for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Next Wednesday & Thursday a grocery bag with a list of donation items will be going home with your child. We will be collecting items November 3rd-6th. Your generous donations will benefit families in Allen. These gifts truly make a difference to local families during the holidays.
Lastly, I just want to say a BIG thank you to all of the families that have so generously given donations to the preschool from the bike-a-thon. This is our main fundraiser for the school year which helps us to make classrooms improvements by purchasing curriculum and other items to use in the classes. A few of the things that this money has been earmarked for are: the computer software (3 programs) that was purchased for the computer lab. In addition several classrooms now have circle time rugs for their classrooms, which are so helpful for that very important time of the day. I also purchased for the Pre K classes additional Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and manipulative items. Other classrooms have received new toys, books, bookshelves, play kitchens, and many other items to use in their classrooms. I thank you for your continued support! Our families at Suncreek Kids are the best and we are truly blessed!!
Have a great weekend!!
~Blessings,
