Good morning,

I hope you are having a great week! I am sending my update out a day earlier than normal because I will be out of town tomorrow. I am traveling back to my hometown in the Midwest for my high school class reunion.

We did practice our monthly fire drill on Tuesday and the children did great with it. In November in addition to the fire drill we will also practice a tornado drill and lock down drill. Both of these drills we do quarterly instead of monthly.

Reminders:

• Halloween parties next Monday, October 30th for M/W Orange Room & Tuesday, October 31st for all other classes.
• Bike a thon pledges – all are due by Thursday, November 2nd – thanks in advance!!

Suncreek UMC Events: We invite any of our Suncreek Kids families to participate in any events or opportunities at Suncreek UMC

Please see below for Mission opportunities at Suncreek for you and your families.

Boyd Thanksgiving Feast: Suncreek UMC is partnered with the Boyd PTA to provide a Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday, November 14th from 6:30-7:30 PM. We need adult and high school students to serve the food. Younger children can help with the craft. We are also providing the sides for the dinner. Please contact Janet Hunt in the church office if you can provide one of the following: stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, jello salad, fruit salad, green salad or a traditional dessert. We need lots of help because we will be feeding close to 800 children and family members.

Boyd Elementary Holiday Store: Boyd Elementary students earn points for good behavior, acts of kindness and grades and can spend these points to buy presents for their family. Items are needed for the store such as: women’s lotion, purses, perfume, kitchen items, scarves, jewelry and men’s ties, gloves, office trinkets, etc. or household items such as pictures, knick-knacks. These items can be gently used or new. Items can be placed in mission bins or contact Janet Hunt in the church office.

Habitat for Humanity: Suncreek has partnered with the North Collin County Habitat for Humanity. Our work day is Saturday, November 4th. If you would like to participate to help build a home for the Campbell family or provide snacks or foods please contact Janet Hunt in the church office. You must be 16 years or older to participate.

Princess Project: Suncreek UMC is now completely in charge of the Princess Project which provides dresses and tuxes to high school students so no one misses the prom or various banquets due to money issues. The event will be March 21 and 22. If you would like to be on the board to plan this wonderful ministry please join us for a meeting Princess Project meeting at 6:00 on November 8th? For more information please contact Janet Hunt in the church office.

Have a great weekend!!
