Good afternoon,

I am so glad many parents were able to attend family chapel this week.  As a reminder family chapel is always the last week of the month and your child’s classroom teacher will also always remind you the week prior to it J  Next week we start a new bible verse and story for the month of October. Our bible verse will be “When I am afraid, I will trust in you.” Psalms 56:3.  The bible story will be David and Goliath.  I invite all of our Suncreek Families to put on your calendar a special event on Sunday, Oct. 14th at the 9:30 & 11:00am church service here at Suncreek for a special Suncreek Kids Sunday. We have done this in the past and I am so glad to say we are now doing it again.  It is a very special Sunday that recognizes this wonderful preschool!

This month will be centered on community helpers and celebrating fall.  We will also be talking about fire safety and look forward to a special visit next week from the Allen Fire Department.  The color of the month is orange and black and the shape is rectangle.  We will be reviewing the letters learned so far and introduce the letters D, E and F.  As you can see October is a busy month but it is filled full of fun!  If you were unable to attend the family picnic last Thursday night with Eddie Coker you missed a fun evening!! We had a great turnout and the children danced and had a wonderful time doing the WooWoo dance as well as other favorites.  I have attached a few shots from that evening J

Specials Update: (Centers, Computers & Spanish and Music classes)

Next week we will be in full swing enjoying our new “Community” We will be learning about helpers the best way…by being them. Did you know that the guy or gal at Chick Fila is a HELPER…well they are in our classroom. Ask any mommy, she will let you know! We dress up as the local firefighters and have give out a few tickets. Our soft blocks are helping to build our community and keeping the helpers busy. While we are still getting use to the sand table, we have added water and some tools to help build our roads and bridges. Have you seen me draw my body on the white board, you should come ask me to show you???

Look out STEVE JOBS…here come the kids from SKCP. Did you know that not all computers work with a finger or touching the screen?  We do! We love to use our three software’s (yes, they still have those too). If you ask me, I can sing my computer song to you. I am also very good at doing sorting on the computer…..

Pablo is a HUGE HIT. I really don’t think the kids care much for me, but he and I are a team so it works. We know how to say HELLO and ask you your name. In song form, of course! Pablo is also getting very good at high 5’s and standing up/ sitting down to our songs. What is round, on your head, and colored…..ask your kids in Spanish!  (Update by Ms Natalie)

We have gotten off to a great start in music this year with lots of moving’& shaking’. Your kids are settling in nicely with the flow of things using instruments, like rhythm
sticks, and dancing to lots of movement songs.

The Rainbow,Orange, and Green rooms love “wheels on the Bus” and “itsy Bitsy Spider”. The Yellow, Silver, & Blue rooms’ favorite this month is “When All the Birds Are Sleeping”, where they jump up and act like crazy scarecrows. The Purple, sky blue, and Red rooms love “Bop Til Ya Drop” and “The Bear Hunt” and learned “When The Saints Go Marching In” with the parachute. Their favorite thing to do is go underneath at the end of class and quietly wait for their teachers to come in abs look for them, so they can jump out and say “surprise”!!!

It’s always such a pleasure to play and sing with them. They are priceless! (Update by Ms Mary Lee)

Here are a few reminders:

Monday & Tuesday – Allen Fire Truck will be here for a visit starting at 9:30 both days.  Each class will have time to visit the truck and have their picture taken with it.

Wednesday – Flu Shot Clinic in Room 128 starting at 9am. Please plan to fill out the attached release form to have the shot given.  Also, anyone planning to file with insurance needs to have a copy of their insurance card to the  preschool office by tomorrow so it can be ran through  before next Wednesday’s clinic.

Monday, Oct. 8th – No SchoolSuncreek Kids will be closed – Allen ISD holiday (Columbus Day)

Wednesday, Oct. 17th Suncreek Kids Annual Bike-a-Thon – this is our main fundraiser for the school year. More information will be coming next week about this event and volunteer sign ups will be by the office starting on Wednesday & Thursday of next week.  We always need a lot of parent volunteers to make this day run very smoothly J

Lastly, a friendly reminder that pick up is at 2:00pm daily and I realize how busy it is in the hallways and in the parking lot but if you are walking in at 2:10-2:15 you are technically late.  Many of my teachers are pushing it to pick their children up from school when parents are running late.  Any parent picking up after 2:15 will be charged a late fee.  Also, please make sure you sign your child in each day when you drop off and pick up.  This is very important information we need to have done by the parent.  Thank you!!  I appreciate you help with this!

Thank you for sharing your precious child with us and I hope you all have a wonderful evening.

~Blessings,
